Summer Internship: Live Event Production

Visual Horizon Communications (VHC) is a boutique event staging company specializing in creative and technical solutions for live corporate events. For more than 40 years, we’ve partnered with production professionals, experiential marketing agencies, and corporations to execute high-impact meetings, trade shows, and special events across the country. Our team leverages cutting-edge audio, video, lighting, and camera technologies to deliver world-class productions and unforgettable audience experiences.

The VHC Summer Internship Program is designed for students who want real-world, hands-on experience in live event production. Interns are fully integrated into our production team and exposed to multiple aspects of the event lifecycle—from planning and preparation to onsite execution and breakdown. This program offers the opportunity to explore different technical disciplines while learning how professional productions are built and executed in fast-paced environments.

Interns may apply for one or more of the following focus areas:

  • Production Management / Technical Direction

  • Audio

  • Video

  • Lighting

  • Camera Engineering

Responsibilities and Requirements:

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist with department planning, show preparation, load-ins, show operations, load-outs, and de-prep

  • Support technical teams with hands-on tasks such as pulling gear, building racks, soldering cables and connections, performing routine repairs, and loading/unloading trucks

  • Participate onsite whenever possible, contributing directly to the success of live events

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proficiency with both PC and Mac environments

  • A strong desire to learn, explore, and continuously improve

  • Comfort working in fast-paced environments with changing priorities

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

  • Self-motivated and self-disciplined work ethic

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

Education and Experience:

  • Current enrollment in a production-centered program focused on live events, production technology, or theater

Program Details:

ay: $25/hour
